SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The River Valley Technical Center (RVTC) awarded the Aaron Douglas Outstanding Dependability award to students at a gathering on Thursday, May 30. The Aaron Douglas Outstanding Dependability Award is given in honor of a former Horticulture and Natural Resources student from Green Mountain Union High School, who displayed outstanding dependability in the face of challenging circumstances. Aaron passed away in February of 2009 after a long illness. To be considered for the award, a student must have a 97 percent or better attendance rate, he/she must come to class prepared to work each day, dresses appropriately, follow instructions, complete tasks, and be true to his/her word. This award is one of the most meaningful awards that students from RVTC can earn; it is only awarded to students who truly follow in Aaron’s example.
