CHESTER, Vt. — Neal Battice, 85, of Route 103 passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Neal was born in Springfield, Vermont on September 8, 1933, the son of John and Enid (White) Battice. He was a graduate of the University of Vermont and worked as an accountant for Big Y. Neal enjoyed bowling and was a member of the league in Springfield. In his retirement he enjoyed kayaking and also participated in Senior Olympics. Neal was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Chester. On October 14, 2006 he married Priscilla Fielders, who survives him. Also surviving is his brother John Battice and wife Phyllis and their daughter Ellen Battice Skinner and husband Rusty, and their children, Justin and Tyler of Indiana; and his stepson Michael Melchor and his son Connor of Rhode Island. There will be calling hours from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., all at the Cavalry Baptist Church in Springfield, Vermont. Burial will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Chester at 1:30 p.m.
