WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt.– White River Junction VA Medical Center is proud to announce that Dr. Bert Fichman has joined the Pain management team as Program Chief. Fichman is board certified in anesthesiology, pain management, and palliative care.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Fichman join our outstanding team of providers.” said Dr. Brett Rusch, executive director of the medical center. “He brings more than 25 years of experience as a practicing physician and will lead the pain management team in offering comprehensive, integrative pain treatment options to our veterans. His expertise, which includes neuromodulation techniques to treat pain, further expands the interventional pain treatment options available to veterans being seen at the White River Junction VA.”
Fichman received his medical degree from Albany Medical School and completed his medical residency training at NYU/Bellevue/Manhattan VA. He has a strong interest in palliative care and will partner with the palliative care service in the advanced management of end-of-life pain. Fichman is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and orthopedics at Geisel School of Medicine.
