Wednesday, July 3:

Brownsville, Vt.: 6 p.m., Ascutney Outdoors Center, music, food, and Cheryl the Clown; fireworks at dusk.

Claremont: 6 p.m., Moody Park; reading of Frederick Douglass’s speech, “What to the Slaves is the Fourth of July?”

Grafton, Vt.: Grafton Ponds, gates open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking;

Vermont Symphony Orchestra concert begins at 7:30 p.m., fireworks with 1812 Overture at conclusion.

Lake Sunapee: Yacht Club fireworks at dusk, best seen from a boat.

Warner: Community reading at noon of Frederick Douglass’s Fourth of July speech.

Thursday, July 4:

Andover: daylong townwide activities; breakfast, patriotic observances, parades at noon; music from 1-9 p.m.; fireworks at dusk.

Brownsville-West Windsor, Vt.: Pancake breakfast, morning through afternoon activities, contests, vendors, music by the Moonlighters; parade at 1 p.m., beer tent, pig roast.

Claremont: 6 p.m., local vendors selling food and beverages; magic with Dylan Tenney; music by Last Kid Picked; fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Grantham: parade, 10 a.m., followed by activities at Recreation Park.

Hartland, Vt.: Old Home Day parade at 10 a.m., activities throughout the day; Moonlighters Big Band 7-9 p.m.; fireworks at dusk.

Lebanon: Morning fun run; 4 p.m. Farmers Market and entertainment by Jason Tardy and The Flames; evening Haley Jane and the Primates; fireworks at dusk.

Ludlow, Vt.: West Hill Recreation Area, 6 p.m. music, food, games; fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Plainfield and Meriden: breakfast; music by North Country Chordsmen; parade and moon landing commemoration 11 a.m.; music by Oxford & Clark; barbecue, strawberry shortcake, yard and craft sales, exhibits and activities morning through afternoon.

Plymouth Notch, Vt.: Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, activities and exhibits 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including induction of new citizens at 10 a.m. wagon rides, debates, and barbecue. (July 4 is President Coolidge’s birthday.)

Saxtons River, Vt.: 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage; road race 8:30 a.m., parade 9:30; street fair, contests, activities all day; evening dancing and music by the Bayou X Cajun/Creole Band, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 6:

Bradford: events all day starting at 8 a.m.; parade at 3:30 with a visit by presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard; fireworks 9:30 p.m. at Brown Shattuck Field.

New London: Fireworks at dark over Pleasant Lake.

Springfield, Vt.: Crown Point Country Club; grounds open 5 p.m., parking $3; fireworks at dusk.

Sunapee: parade at 11 a.m., fireworks at dusk in Sunapee Harbor.
