Fletcher Farm introduces Artist-in-Residence Nancy Monson

COURTESY
LUDLOW, Vt. — Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts (www.fletcherfarm.org) announced that Nancy Monson, a fiber and multimedia artist from Connecticut, is our artist-in-residence for the month of July. Monson is a past student at the Fletcher Farm School and the recipient of a post-graduate certificate in Fiber Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Her work has been featured in many exhibitions, including one this past year at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, Massachusetts. She is also a widely published writer on the topics of wellness and creativity, and the author of “Craft to Heal: Soothing Your Soul with Sewing, Painting, and Other Pastimes,” which explores the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of pursuing a creative activity you love.

In addition to working on personal projects in the areas of silk painting, quilting, felting, quilling and painting while at Fletcher Farm School, Monson will be teaching two forthcoming evening classes:

ZENTANGLE 2 – July 9, 6-8 p.m.

Class 1 (July 2) introduces students to the Zentangle drawing method, a structured drawing technique that is relaxing and fun. Students don’t need any artistic experience to join this class. The technique looks complicated, but once you learn the steps to draw the “tangles” on paper tiles, you can create beautiful drawings. $35 plus $10 material fee.

Class 2 is for people who have some Zentangle experience or have taken Class 1. This class will review more “tangle” patterns and the use of different sizes and shapes of tiles to draw on. $35 plus $5 material fee.
