The DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses

The DAISY Award honors the compassionate care that our nurses give our patients and their families every day. The recipients of this award personify Valley Regional Healthcare’s dedication to patient-centered care through our guiding principles of Integrity, Excellence, Accountability, and Compassion. Throughout the year, we request nominations for exemplary service provided by members of our team, who are the backbone of our care. Valley Regional holds a ceremony twice a year, dedicated to all our nurses, where we recognize one nurse with the DAISY award.

An acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, The DAISY Foundation was formed in November 1999, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The nursing care Barnes received when hospitalized profoundly touched his family.

If you have received extraordinary care by a nurse and would like to nominate him or her, please download the nomination form from our website. Fill out, mail or scan and email to [email protected]. If you have any questions please call Ann Griffing at 603.542.3426
