CORNISH — The Cornish Fair opens this Friday with a strong music lineup, including up-and-coming New Hampshire country artist Tim Brick and singer-songwriter Morgan Myles from Nashville this Friday and Saturday.
Rubicon, a Journey tribute band, is the headliner for Saturday evening.
“It’s like being at your own ‘80s concert,” said organizer Jenn Ucci. “They play Journey, some Foreigner, some Boston.”
Myles is a newly minted country star who has toured with Reba McEntire. “Morgan Myles is so talented,” said Ucci. “Her vocals are outstanding.”
Myles’ elastic and powerful voice can be heard on her recently released single, “Knew Love”, on the web. She will play two shows back to back, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
Tim Brick opens on Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Tim Brick Band, recently nominated for a New England Country Award, plays haunting, hardscrabble, concert-rock country music; lots of guitar, not a lot of fiddle.
Local group Off the List plays pop rock, and A Guilty Pleasure rounds out the lineup with Motown, Funk and Disco. “They’re really high energy and upbeat,” said Ucci. “You’ll definitely hear songs you know and want to dance to.”
The fair entertainment committee added Disney princesses this year: Melana and Ariel will meet and greet with children from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., singing and signing photos. “That’s something new and fun,” said Ucci. “We’ve never had Disney princesses before.”
