Joanne Fontaine

NEW LONDON — Joanne Fontaine, 76, of Pleasant Street, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She was born April 29, 1943, in Barre, Vermont, the daughter of Maurice Fontaine and Phyllis Fontaine Dow. At an early age, the family moved to Corinth, Vermont, where she attended Cookeville Grade School. Ms. Fontaine was a 1960 graduate of Bradford (Vermont) Academy and later attended Champlain Business School in Burlington, Vermont. On Oct. 12, 1961, she married Richard Pushee, and they were divorced in 1974. On July 12, 1980, in Piermont, she married Robert Marcott who survives. Ms. Fontaine had been a private duty caregiver for many years for families in the Upper Valley. She enjoyed camping, cooking, scrapbooking and spending time with her family. Besides her husband of New London, she is survived by one daughter Robyn (Peter) Falso of Campton; three sons, Wade (Pamela Charlesworth) Pushee, Shawn (Ann) Pushee, all of North Haverhill, and Lance (Sally) Pushee of Leesburg, Florida; eight grandsons, eight great-grandchildren; a brother Arthur Fontaine of Palo Alto, California; a sister Mary Clark of West Fairlee, Vermont; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Maurice Fontaine. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
