NEWPORT — On the day of the Corbin Covered Bridge Festival, Saturday, Oct. 12, there will be “Dinner by the Bridge” under the tent catered by The Old Courthouse Restaurant.
This will be a signature event with seating for only 120 people, so don’t miss out! Menu and details are:
Beginning at 5 p.m.—Hors D’oeuvres and beverages with a Promenade through the bridge until Dinner. (A period of one hour during which time the bridge will be closed to traffic)
Dinner at 6 p.m. consisting of the following Menu—Roasted Butternut Squash, Pumpkin Seeds, Dried Cranberries over Mixed Greens with Balsamic Vinaigrette, House Rolls and Butter, Beef Tenderloin (Prepared on site), Mashed Potatoes, Shoestring Carrots and Parsnips, Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Celebration Cake (Chocolate, Espresso, Martini), Coffee, Ice Water with Lemon, Glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon (Donated).
A vegetarian option will be provided in place of the beef tenderloin upon request. In order to plan, you must state this at the time of ticket purchase.
In addition to dinner, when guests present their tickets at the door, we will ask them to sign their name on the back. During dinner, a name will be drawn for a “one of a kind” Kent Stetson clutch.
Price for a Dinner Ticket is $75 per person
Newport Historical Society now has “Square” technology. You may charge your dinner tickets to your credit or debit card. This option will be available at the Farmers’ Market on Fridays. If this venue is not convenient for you to purchase using your credit card, please call Jackie Cote, 863-3105, and a representative will plan to meet at the museum at your convenience.
Officials are also selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle with more benefits then just half of the ticket money. There will be two other drawings, one for a beautiful Corbin Bridge puzzle box with a photo image of the Bridge etched in the top and a puzzle of wooden pieces of that same photo inside the box.
A third drawing will be for a beautiful laser etched, 3-D version of the Corbin Bridge complete with Lattice Trusses etched on the inside sidewalls. Both items are wonderful additions to the usual 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
Tickets may be purchased at the Farmers’ Market, Concerts on the Common or at the Museum on Sunday’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or on the day of the Festival.
