As the days turn cooler, come out and try some games with us.
Game Day (hand & foot) will be on Monday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. Our first Board Game Day turned out so well, we are having it again on Friday, Oct. 25. We played Sorry, Yahtzee, Michigan Rummy, and Corn Hole. I have had inquiries about anyone playing the game Mahjong. We have some folks that would like to learn to play this game.
The Book Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. We are currently reading “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
The end of the month we have packed with entertainment. On Monday, Oct. 28, the Ukulealiens will perform at 1 p.m. On Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. will be our Fall Harvest Dance with the Green Mountain Express Band playing. Lastly, on Friday, Nov. 1, the Songster will be performing their fall concert. (They will not be performing Wednesday, Oct. 23, as announced in the monthly bulletin)
Do you like to sing? We could use some more folks to join the Songsters. You don’t need to know how to read music to join. This is a group that gets together weekly and goes over the songs that will be sung for their programs. They do four programs a year here at the center and will travel to a few local centers to “take the show on the road.” If interested, you can call or just show up on Fridays mornings as they start at 9 a.m.
We will be starting an 8-week series of Tai Chi classes on Tuesdays from Oct. 2-Nov. 26. The classes will be from 1-2 p.m. Tai Chi connects the mind, body and breath; it also works on balance, weight transfer and arthritis. There is no signup for these classes.
Save the date for our largest fundraiser, the Annual Christmas Bazaar, Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. We will be having our Cookie Walk, luncheon and food table along with some of your favorite venders and new ones. A good way to start the Christmas season and shopping.
