CORNISH — Arthur “Joe” Kenyon, 94, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at the New London Hospital in New London. Joe was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Claremont, a son of Carroll E. and Mattie O. (Walker) Kenyon. He attended Stevens High School and went to work for the Town of Cornish for several years. He later went to work for Central Vermont Public Service. He was married to Barbara Garten in 1944; they made their home in Cornish where they raised their family. They were divorced in 1977. Joe retired from CVPS in 1988 after many years of service as a boom pperator. He was married to Flora (King) LaPan in 1989 and lived in Cornish, moving to Sunapee in June of 2019. Over the years, Joe enjoyed life as a tree farmer raising Christmas trees. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He was predeceased by a son Dale Kenyon; a daughter Sherry Kenyon; a brother Randall Kenyon; two sisters, Beverly Rockwood, Kathleen Train; his first wife Barbara Kenyon; and stepdaughter Peggy Dunn. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Flora Kenyon of Sunapee; two daughters, Carole Rich, Joanne Russell, both of Windsor; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; all of Flo’s children, Nelson LaPan, Elaine Clark, Janice Ellis, Elizabeth Kimball, Marjorie LaPan Drake, William LaPan, and extended family who were so instrumental in the last many years of his life. The family would like to extend a warm thank you for all the help in the last couple of years to Marjorie, Janice, Bill and Donnie Dunn. A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, Vermont, from 4-6 p.m. At his request, there will be no service.
