It’s going to be a warm, wet, windy Halloween across most of northern New England.
Rain is falling across the region with winds picking up over the course of the day in coastal New Hampshire and Maine.
In Vermont a wind advisory takes effect Thursday afternoon. Gusts of up 55 mph are forecast.
National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Legrow says it’ll be breezy with gusts in the 25 mph range during trick-or-treating Thursday evening, with temperatures in the 60s in many areas.
He says the gusts will strengthen overnight, reaching upward of 45 mph on Friday. That raises the possibility of scattered power outages. Then the weather shifts again with sunny skies and plummeting temperatures for the weekend.
