Yvette L. Dion

CLAREMONT — Yvette Louise Dion, 89, of Claremont, passed away on Nov. 5, 2019, at Sullivan County Health Care, after a long illness. She was born in Claremont on Sept. 20, 1930, as Yvette Dufrense, to William and Bunny Dufrense. She was the loving wife of Paul Dion who passed away in 1980. Yvette is survived by her sons, Pete Dion and wife Carol of Newport, and Bob Dion and wife Linda of Claremont; her daughter Penny Williams of Claremont; grandchildren, Richard Jay Dion, Eric Dion, Teri Blanchard, Rene’ Lusco, Tina Durkee and Amanda Williams; nine great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Bertha Lamarre. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother William Dufrense; two sisters, Irene Antonivich and Doris Hipwell; and a great-great-grandson. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a lifelong resident of Claremont. She had worked at Ames and then Kmart. She opened and ran her own children’s clothing store, Yvette’s Petite Shoppe, for many years. She was well-known and liked by everyone. She always greeted people in her store with such charm. A graveside service will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Claremont on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements are with Stringer Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 146 Broad St., Claremont, NH 03743.
