NEWPORT — The Granite State FFA booth was developed and staffed by the  members of the Sugar River Valley FFA Chapter of Newport, N.H. at the recent National Future Farmers of America Convention and Exposition held in Indianapolis.

The  booth was modeled after an Educational Display about the importance

of the Honey Bee to New Hampshire’s Agriculture. Myles Godsoe,

Hayden Patenaude, and Ethan Lippincott manned the booth from

Wednesday, Oct. 30 to Friday, Nov. 1 where they spoke and

educated thousands of FFA members and guests about the importance

of the Honey Bee to Agriculture.

They researched this topic and wanted to spread the message of the Honey Bees importance to New Hampshire Agriculture.

While spreading the importance of the honey bees the students also handed out “Save the Bees” bracelets, local honey sticks, and Honey Bee Pollinator Seed Packets.

New Hampshire has seen a rise in winter hive loss for more than a decade and New Hampshire agriculture is widely misunderstood throughout the country.

These students did a wonderful job representing the State of New

Hampshire and the Town of Newport spreading the word on this

important topic. The artwork was created and donated by Dale

Flewelling of Art Attack Signs and the booth was sponsored by many

local businesses and community members.
