BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — An investigation by police into a bank robbery in Bellows Falls earlier this week continues Thursday morning as the man responsible has yet to be identified.
Police say TD Bank, located at 2 Church Street, was hit Monday afternoon at around 2 p.m. There was no weapon displayed by the robber and no injuries were suffered by anyone in the bank at the time, according to Bellows Falls Police Chief Ron Lake. The bank was closed for the remainder of the day.
The man is described as white, approximately 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 and average weight with facial hair, according to a press release issued by the Bellows Falls Police Department later that same day.
At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing dark blue jeans, a gray winter hat and a black coat that hangs below the waist line.
The subject was last seen walking south from the TD Bank across the Hetty Green parking lot and between Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home and the Consolidated Communications building, according to the aforementioned press release.
The last bank robbery in the village took place in February 2012 when Chad Dustin, 38, of Bellows Falls, and Gerald Clough, 30, of Swansey, N.H., robbed the People’s United Bank on Atkinson Street.
