On Nov. 11, 12 and 13 many communities across New Hampshire reported record low temperatures and those records go back to the late 1800’s. Portsmouth got to enjoy record lows on each of those three days.
Several ski areas in both New Hampshire and Vermont have been making snow for many nights and even during the daylight hours, depending on the cold temperatures. And some of them opened for their winter skiing season on Nov. 16.
A potential for icy road conditions on Monday morning didn’t materialize, which was a pleasant welcome to motorists heading off to work.
Tuesday started off with some light rain and as a precaution, state salt trucks were in action. The rain eventually turned to snow with big flakes that ended up as slush before finally melting in most areas. In some communities, however, local highway departments did some plowing.
