Casandra M. “Cassie” Lufkin

CHARLESTOWN — Casandra Mae “Cassie” Lufkin, 27, of Charlestown, passed away at her home Saturday morning, Nov. 23, 2019, after an almost-three-year battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 14, 1992, in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of Arthur and Ada (Maxham) Lufkin. Casandra attended schools in Charlestown and graduated from Fall Mountain High School in 2010. She also attended SMCC in South Portland, Maine, studying horticulture. For the last few years, she was employed at Whelen Engineering as an assembler. Her friends and co-workers describe her as genuine, smart, funny, brave and courageous. Survivors include her parents, sister Amanda Lufkin and companion Earll Holden, niece Kendra Lufkin, nephew Parker Holden, paternal grandparents, James Colburn and Jewel Lufkin, all of Charlestown; aunts, Misty Hodgdon of Unity and Wendy Lufkin of Charlestown; uncles, Gordon Maxham of Portland, Maine, and Justin Lufkin of Rochester; cousins, Kimberly, Covey, Everett, James, Jordan and Montana; also her fur babies, Dunkin, Storm and Chico. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Theron and Ruth Maxham; infant brotherTyler; and uncle Scott Lufkin. Visiting hours will be held at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel on 34 Main St. in Charlestown on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon. A service will be held at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to any local animal shelter of one’s choice. Arrangements are with Stringer Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 146 Broad St., Claremont, NH 03743.
