It Snowed! And it snowed! And it snowed! OK, enough! Please save some for later — like February. We hope all of you were safe and warm during this storm and you checked on your friends and neighbors.
Cribbage is open to all. Join us as we renew our inner winner instincts. We will be dealing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. We have plenty of once around and twice around boards. Also some three player boards. Large number cards are available for those who need them. Remember members can come anytime to play. Bring a friend!
Tuesdays are really hopping around here. The pool players are trying to stay steady for that last ball and are taking in the aromas from the kitchen where Ken and the volunteer staff are cooking lunch. Wonder they don’t lose their concentration. Of course, if you take in the calories, you have to work them off. So we have a group of gentle stretch at 11 a.m. and Silver Sneakers at 1 p.m. Both will help our bodies not freeze up. Our Tuesday evening is full of activities starting at 6-9. Several things are going on at the same time. Hand and Foot and Mexican Train groups are alive and well. The pool room is full of laughter. Of course, you can bring friends to watch TV, play cribbage, corn hole, what ever you desire. This time and the Thursday evening time are open to the public.
Every day the Center has something to offer our seniors to do. We offer exercise, companionship, fun, relaxation, and great meals. Drop in and pick up a newsletter for the times for our member programs such as pool, cards, knitting, exercise, games, bridge, ping pong, corn hole, bingo and cribbage. Most activities are for our members, but trial memberships allow you to participate in the activities. When you become a member, you can bring friends to play anytime. Bingo, of course, is open to the public as long as they are 50+.
Guess what! Ken found some turkeys! Some nice people donated them for our Christmas dinner. On Thursday, Dec. 19 at 11:45 a.m., Ken and the volunteers will offer a complete Turkey Dinner with all the fixings. Cost is $10. You must sign up for this event. Call (603) 543-5998.
