Henry O. Normandin

Henry O. Normandin CLAREMONT — Henry Omer Normandin, of Claremont, passed away on Dec. 7, 2019, at home, with his daughter and son-in-law, where he had lived for the last two years. Fondly known as “Hank,” “Dad,” “Grandpa” and “Pepe” to those who loved him most, Henry survived his wife, Lucille Theresa (Morin) Normandin, who passed away Jan. 16, 2016. They are now joined in heaven, as they should be. Henry was born in Manchester on Nov. 14, 1929, the son of Armand M. “Pete” and Mary L. (Welch) Normandin, and had resided in Claremont most of his life. He was a graduate of Stevens High School (Class of ’47) and was in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1950. His career included 38 years at Joy Mfg Co. and Sullivan Machine Co. ending with the position of production control manager, followed by three years at Power Ray Corp. as the general manager, retiring in 1992. Henry was an avid golfer throughout his life and once served as president of the Claremont Country Club. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, a member of the Production & Inventory Control Society and a member of the American Legion Post #29. Hank also donated his time to senior citizens, helping them file income taxes. Hank and Lucille were married on Sept. 10, 1949, and had a wonderful marriage and fulfilling life together. Henry and Lucille had two sons, Michael D. Normandin of Charlestown (wife Susan Landry Normandin) and Scott K. Normandin of Albany, Oregon (wife Susan Winter Normandin); and one daughter Renee A. Bickford of Northfield (husband James Bickford); four grandchildren, Sasha M. Pardy of Queensbury, New York, Seth Normandin of Oroville, California, Brittany Bickford of Tilton, and James Bickford of Portland, Oregon; as well as three great-grandchildren, Ella Pardy (14), Tucker Bickford (who shared a birthday with his Pepe, age 11), and Ethan Pardy (8). Hank had two brothers, George A. Normandin (deceased) and Alfred V. Normandin, a sister Lucille Abby (deceased) and one foster sister Mrs. James (Irene) Tebo, all of Claremont; plus nieces, nephews and cousins. Hank was much loved by his family, never hesitating to joke and get down and play with his grandkids as long as he could. He was a loving and caring husband who served as a model to all in his family. With a sense of humor that would rival any comedian, Hank could make anyone smile at any time. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church in Claremont on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. A luncheon is planned after the service.
