Springfield Senior Center News: Dec. 21

The Senior Center had its Christmas Party on Wed, Dec. 18. The Songsters performed some timeless Christmas songs, along with a visit from Santa. Thanks to the following people: Linda Wilson for chairing the refreshments with the help of Janet Lynds. Also, to Kathy Petelle, Lois Golden, Sandi Tarbell, Terri Emerson, Becky Millard, Jeannine McNamara, Pat Graves, Joanne McMullan, Nancy Houghton and Linda Wilson for making treats for our party. Our Senior of the Year Terri Emerson was Santa’s helper passing out bags of candy. Also, to Wes Marshall for taping for SAPA TV.

As we enter the season of snow and cancellations, if Springfield schools are closed, means the Senior Center will be closed. If Springfield schools are running on a delay, the center will also be delayed the same amount of time.

Nickel Bingo will be on Friday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. Game Day (Hand & Foot) will be on Monday, Dec. 23. Board games (which now has Mahjong players) will be on Monday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m.

Thank you to Paulette Shambo for doing another Christmas Craft afternoon with us. She always has so many fun and good crafts to make.

We will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 for Christmas. On Thursday Dec. 26 we will be open from 10-2. On Friday, Dec. 27 we are back to regular hours of 8-4. We also will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

We are also having a food drive for the Family Center here in town.

Save the date for Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. as we will be having our New Year’s Party. Terry Ryan and Rick Monarch will be providing the entertainment this year. More details to come.

May you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
