Lebanon downs Kearsarge

Local Recaps

Lebanon 46, Kearsarge 32

It was a tough opening quarter for the Cougars on the road against a top ranked Lebanon team to start the 2019-2020 season in boys basketball. Kearsarge missed their first 12 shots, getting down early 15-0 before getting a 3-pointer from Nick LeBlanc. They got great looks at the basket from mid range and in the paint that wouldn’t fall. Down 15-5 after one quarter and 29-10 at the half, the Cougars came out of the locker room with something to prove as they outscored Lebanon 22-17 in the second half, including a 16-11 third quarter advantage. Kearsarge started hitting shots and picked things up defensively, led by energetic sophomores Chris Stanchfield’s 14 points and 11 rebounds while George Jallah hauled in 6 rebounds.

Kearsage(0-1) will host Bishop Brady(0-1) in their home opener on January 3 with a 6:30 tip-off.
