Martell, Lovely boys, Davis, Dube start strong at track

HANOVER — In the New Hampshire Winter Indoor Track League boys’ competition at Leverone Field House Dec. 22, Pinkerton led the boys’ standings with 71 points followed by Concord, 52; Bishop Guertin, 43; Keene, 34; Hanover 28; St. Johnsbury Academy, 19 and Newport 18.

Rounding out the field were Thetford Academy, 13; Lebanon, 6; Trinity, 4; Manchester Memorial, 3; Fall Mountain, 2, and Rivendell, 1.

In the 55-meter finals, Newport’s Jagger Lovely was fourth and Mason Martell, sixth. In the 300-meter dash, Jagger Lovely and Ryder Lovely place 6-7. Former Newport star John Thibault placed fourth for Trinity.

In the 600-meter run Sean Moody of Newport placed 16th in the field of 30. Martell finished second in the 55-meter hurdles. Newport’s 4×200-meter relay team of Jagger and Ryder Lovely, Martell and Moody placed third.

For the girls, Bishop Guertin led the way with 61 points followed by Keene, 55; Pinkerton, 53; Hanover, 35; St. Johnsbury Academy. 35; Concord, 20; Sharon Academy, 6 and Fall Mountain, 5. The remainder of the group included Manchester Memorial, 5; Monadnock, 5; Trinity, 4; Lebanon, 4; Thetford Academy 4 and Mascenic,

In the girls’ 55-meter dash, Kyla Eigabroadt, a junior, placed 11th for Fall Mountain. In the 300-meter dash Kyla was second in 45.72 with the top spot going to Zoe Onyango of Hanover in 44.78. In the 55-meter hurdles Eigabroadt placed 10th, just behind teammate Rachel Watson.

Plymouth State Meet

PLYMOUTH — In the boys’ competition Dec. 21 at Plymouth State University, the top six teams were Winnacunnet with 71 points followed by Pelham, 35, Milford, 33, Bow, 25, Merrimack Valley, 23 and Pembroke, 21. Kearsarge placed 11th in the field of 14 teams with 10 points.

In the 55-meter dash finals, JJ Davis of Kearsarge was third in 6.95. Seth Baylus of Merrimack Valley was first in 6.88.

Davis took top honors in the 300-meter dash with a time of 38.52. Zachary Valhouli of Winnacunnet was second in 38.61. Davis finished off his day with a seventh-place finish in the long jump at 16-06.25. The event was won by Dylan Foss of Pelham in 20-04.75.

In the girls’ competition, Merrimack Valley captured top honors with 55 points followed by Milford, 42; Winnacunnet, 37.50; Gilford, 31.50 and Pelham, 31.50. Kearsarge placed eighth with 15.50 points.

Mya Dube of Kearsarge was fifth in the 300-meter dash and first in the 1000-meter run with a clocking of 3:08.06. Sophia Reynolds of Merrimack Valley was second in 3:12.52.

Kearsarge placed sixth in the 4×400-meter relay in 5:26.41. Merrimack Valley won the event in 4:44.81. The Kearsarge team included Kate Cochran, Ayla Frenkieweich, Madeline Prak and Mya Dube. Prak picked up a point for Kearsarge with her sixth-place finish in the 600-meter run in 1:58.85. Krisrtina Pizzi of Bow placed first in 1:49.59.

In the girls’ long jump Frenkiewich was 12th at 12-03.50 with Prak 15th at 12-02.50. Annie Chambers placed 10th in the shot put with a toss of 23-02. Robyn Krafft of Milford fouled twice and then captured the event at 32-11.00 on her third and final throw.
