WINDSOR, Vt. — The Windsor Police Department arrested two people early Saturday morning as a result of an investigation dealing with the suspected trafficking of illegal drugs initiated by citizen complaints.
In a press release issued by the Windsor Police Chief William Sampson, the department’s special response team executed a search warrant at 57 Jarvis St. in Windsor after grievances about drug distribution and overdoses within the town were made by local residents.
Two Windsor residents were arrested at the residence. Lisa Nugent, 50, was charged with three counts of the sale of heroin over 200 mg, four counts of possession of heroin over 200 mg and three counts of trafficking fentanyl. Charles Wolfenbarger, 31, was charged with two counts of sales of heroin consisting of 200 mg or more and one count of the sale of heroin.
Nugent and Wolfenbarger were transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield and are being held on $100,000 and $50,000 bail respectively.
During the execution of the search warrant, officers seized 112 bags of heroin/fentanyl, $2,788 in cash and a loaded .9mm handgun. Nugent was processed and transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vermont where she is being held on $100,000 bail.
An arrest warrant for Jennifer Tenney, who remains at large, is being sought for two counts of conspiracy to sell heroin consisting of 200 mg of more and two counts of conspiracy to traffic fentanyl.
The arrests concluded a lengthy investigation into the distribution of heroin and the trafficking of fentanyl in the Town of Windsor
The Windsor Police Department will continue its “zero tolerance” approach to combating the heroin epidemic along with all other illicit drug distribution, according to the press release.
