Man accused of ordering dog to attack woman

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man has been accused of ordering his 120-pound Rottweiler to attack a woman, police said.

Matthew Flewelling, 47, of Manchester, was arrested on charges of second-degree assault, criminal restraint, criminal threatening and simple assault on Thursday night. He was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Police responded to an apartment, where a woman said she had an argument with Flewelling. She said he wouldn’t allow her to leave and then ordered his dog to attack her. Police said the dog bit the woman twice. The woman eventually escaped to another room, locked the door and called police.

It wasn’t immediately known if Flewelling had a lawyer, and a phone number couldn’t be found for him.
