Letter to the Editor: To Stevens High School alumni

It is with sadness and regret that after thinking long and hard about this coronavirus, and discussing with board members, we have decided that, for the safety and health of all people, the Stevens High School Alumni Association will be, for the first time ever, canceling Alumni Weekend. Instead, the association will be celebrating its 150th reunion the weekend of June 12, 2021. With the cancellation of this year’s events, we look forward to next year. We want the parade to be a spectacular event, one to remember. Parade units have already been contacted and we invite this year’s five year classes to resume their plans, go with the theme they chose this year. Five year classes for 2021 will have a new theme to choose from so just think, what a parade with every five year class from this year and next year participating, how great would that be? We invite other years to take part, your class doesn’t have to be an anniversary year to have a float in the alumni parade. We invite businesses and non-profit organizations to take an interest and even grade schools, they are the future of Stevens High School alumni.

When we can resume meetings, we will be selecting a theme for 2021 and we will post the date on the website, Facebook, newspaper and other social media so that alumni members can attend. Anyone wishing to submit a theme for 2021 can do so now and we will add to our list of themes.
