Peter R. Hake

Peter R. Hake PERKINSVILLE — Peter Richard Hake, 58, died on April 15, 2020, in the company of his loving and faithful sister Heather. He was born in Wallingford, Connecticut, but grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. He was a proud Cosmos, playing on football, basketball and golf teams. He later turned his love for golf and the outdoors into a vocation, graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in turf management. He worked on golf courses on Long Island and Colorado, keeping his greens in perfect trim. Peter’s youth in Springfield was lived outdoors, enthusiastically and exuberantly, especially with his very best lifelong pals, Bill Bassett, Doug Parker and Scott Harrison. From golf to ice fishing to rolling the occasional pumpkin, he was truly a man for all seasons. Peter is survived by his mother, Diana Hake of Vero Beach, Florida; his brother, John Hake of Oakland, California; and sister, Heather Hake Hartford of Springfield. He is also survived by a niece and several nephews, Tim, Shannon, and Matthew Hartford, and Jackson and Peter C. Hake. His father, Jack Hake, predeceased him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
