Edward B. Merrill

Edward B. Merrill ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — It is with much sadness that the family of Edward B. Merrill, 84, announce his passing away, peacefully after a long illness, on Thursday, April 23, 2020, in Zephyrhills, Florida, with his loving wife at his side. He was born in August 1935 in Berlin, New Hampshire, the son of Linwood and Irene (Pettingill) Merrill of Charlestown, New Hampshire. He was a truck driver off and on for many years, working in different aspects of that occupation. He also owned and operated “Ed’s Cab Service” while living in Florida. He especially enjoyed going to Madeira Beach to spend time at the cottage he and his wife have there to just relax and enjoy the outdoors. This was done on many long weekends through the years. He was a lover of a special type of crossword puzzle called “Sudoku” and looked forward to the paper each day. He had a wonderful sense of humor and really enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by his family. He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Michael; and one brother, Andrew. Surviving family includes his wife, Pamela, of 36 years; one son, Edward and wife Patti and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild of Oklahoma; two brothers, Bruce and wife Joyce of Charlestown, New Hampshire, and David and wife Judith of Enfield, Connecticut. He will also be missed by many, many cousins, one niece and four nephews; lastly by his precious little doggie and friend, Dannie-D. The family would like to give a special thanks to two cousins, especially Janice Tomberlin and Jack Merrill, who were very supportive and helpful during his illness. There will be no funeral, per his request. Condolences may be sent in care of Bruce Merrill, 969 Acworth Road, Charlestown, NH 03603. Envelopes marked “For Pamela.”
