Barbara P. Wilson

Barbara P. Wilson CLAREMONT — Barbara P. Wilson, 87, joined her awaiting husband, Wayne R. Wilson Sr., in eternal life and love on May 10, 2020. Barbara was born in Claremont, New Hampshire, on July 21, 1932, the daughter of Harriet (Roy) and Maurice Wentzell. At an early age, Barbara worked for her father’s taxi company and helped care for her siblings. Following graduation from Stevens High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Wayne, on Dec. 2, 1950. They made their home and raised their three children, Deborah K. Lemere, Wayne R. Wilson Jr., Jane E. Comstock (Lovell), in Claremont. Barbara worked for many years at the Eagle Times, but her passion was her family. Her home was always open and filled with the delicious aroma of her cooking and baking favorite treats for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was a woman of faith. She was dedicated, baptized and married in the First Baptist Church (Grace River). She loved her church family, and looked forward to her Bible study classes and post service fellowship at Dunkin’ Donuts. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years on April 16, 2017; her parents; her sister, Joan Wentzell, her brother, Maurice Wentzell Jr.; and infant grandson, Aaron Comstock. She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Kittridge, Maureen Bracy; and her lifelong friend, Gerry (Roy) McGray. Grandchildren include Randy Root (Susan), Spencer Root, Scott Wilson (Victoria), Kate Leclaire (Andrew), Emily Comstock (Christopher) and Lucas Comstock. Great-grandchildren include Spenser Root, Lauren and Everly Leclaire. Barbara’s family would like to thank each and every staff member at Sullivan County Health Care for their loving care and support given to our Mother/Nana. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, a private graveside service will be held. You are invited to share a memory of Barbara with the family or leave a message of condolence in the family guest book at www.royfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
