Martha M. Murgatroy GOSHEN — Martha Marie Murgatroy, 79, passed away on May 4, 2020, in Claremont, New Hampshire, from natural causes. Martha was born on Sept. 8, 1940, in Newport, New Hampshire, to the late James D. Putney and Martha C. (Thomas) Putney. She attended Towle High School before working as a machinist at Sturm Ruger. She loved to camp, hunt and fish. She also enjoyed crocheting and would donate her creations. Martha was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Raymond C. Murgatroy Jr.; brothers, James L. Putney, James D. Putney Jr. and Robert R. Putney; sisters, Violet Andrew and Betty Anne Belan; and brother-in-law, Ronald Murgatroy. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Gamble and husband Dana of Texas; sister, Linda Putney of Goshen, New Hampshire; sister-in-law, Carolyn Rollins of Newport, New Hampshire; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was buried next to her husband in Mill Village Cemetery in Goshen, New Hampshire. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
