Well hello everyone! We hope you all had a good week. Weather has been pretty good — finally.
This week, we have some good news and some bad news. Let’s do the bad news first.
The concert originally scheduled for Saturday, June 27, has been postponed for now. We are working out the logistics like placement, rain, no inside and food delivery. We will work it out, but we have to apply all the guidelines for your safety. Stay tuned. We want the music, too, badly.
The Spring Fling Craft Fair that became the Summer Fling Craft Fair is now the Winter Fling Craft Fair. We have to say the crafters have been great through all this. First May, then July, now Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They have been so patient. Most decided to hang in there with us, By then, we should be able to have more people in the hall and do the cookie walk. It was a tough decision, but we wanted the best for our crafters. The crafters will have an abundance of items for your Christmas shopping.
Now for the good news! Wait for it….We are opening! It will be a soft opening. We are starting with Tuesday June 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. And 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Game Night. Please do not bring a snack unless it is individually packaged like a bag of chips. No sharing. The next day to open will be Friday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is so exciting to be able to host the seniors again even if it is on a limited basis. Distancing required, please be respectful about masks. Woohoo!
There will be a blood drive on Monday, June 8 from noon to 5 p.m. Please come if you can. Blood is so greatly needed during this time of unrest. Thanks to those who choose to participate.
The Car Show is still in play. The committee met again to talk about guidelines and alternatives. So far, so good. However, they did change the rain date to “alternate” date. That way we can move the show easily to Wednesday, Sept. 13. Again, stay in touch.
We are also talking about different ways to do the Penny Sale. We think we may have solutions for the Sunday, Aug. 23, event. We really want to do this event, so there may have to be some adjustments .But we promise you a fabulous and safe afternoon.
We are going to continue the take-out meals through June. We also have a surprise for you. Let’s do next week’s menu first.
Menu for the week:
Tuesday, June 9
Fresh cut salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread and dessert.

Thought for the Week:
When difficulties arise, think positive. View them as creative opportunities.
We hope everyone is getting out in the fresh air when they can. A walk around the house is peaceful and healthy. Go barefoot! Get away from the TV for a few minutes. Have a good week everyone.
Our halls await your laughter and lively conversation. See you soon.
