Claremont Senior Center News: June 27, 2020

And they came and they laughed! And they played pool! And the game night was a hoot. And they joined. Welcome to the Claremont Senior Center Welcome Back Opening. So don’t be shy! Join us on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Game Night and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Mahjong and knitting. Or pick up those books and puzzles. The sanitizer has found a permanent home here and is called on often to give a spritz.

And so it begins — the way back to some sort of normal. The guidelines change every hour so conforming to and relaxing some takes its toll. As we add more days to the reopening, please be patient with us. What may be OK one day may not be OK the next. We are “tap dancing” as fast as we can. Thanks everyone for your understanding. We want all to be safe.

OK. Down to business. Here ye! Here ye! Here ye! We present a fabulous feast for your table on Saturday, June 27 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ken and volunteers will prepare for your pleasure BBQ chicken, homemade pasta salad, homemade baked beans, corn on the cob, roll and homemade desserts. All this for the small amount of $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under. Make your reservations early by calling (603) 543-5998 by 4 p.m. Take out only. (Donations are accepted for kitchen goods by check or gift card. Mail to the Center. Thanks.) This meal can be eaten outside as a patio dinner. No grill to clean after! Woohoo!

Not letting the momentum slow down, the kitchen marvels will present for your palate:

Menu for the week:

Tuesday, June 30

Fresh made stuffed peppers, veggie and dessert.

Thursday, July 2

Hamburger, hot dog, fresh made pasta salad, veggie and dessert.

Please call (603) 543-5998 by 10:30 a.m. and leave a message to reserve your meals. Members are $4, nonmembers are $5. Pick up from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Don’t miss all this fantastic, freshly prepared goodness.

The Penny Sale Committee is earnestly looking for 75 more prizes for the Gigantic Penny Sale. The items can be new or gently used. So, look around. Pretend it is a Treasure Hunt. As you look through the cabinets or the closets hiding behind another item or in the back of that top shelf will be a Treasure you only used once and never again. Bring it to the Center. We will find a great new home for it. Thanks ahead of time for your Treasure finds.

We are so looking forward to seeing all of our seniors again.

Thought for the Week:

Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.

Laughter and lively conversation are always welcome.
