If you find yourself muting what would be an otherwise reasonable opinion — or even worse, publicly agreeing with fact-free absurdities with which you do not — you are not alone. A reign of terror has infected America and has now spread to its heartland. As we all know, the Mount Ascutney School Board placed Windsor School principal Tiffany Riley on paid leave for suggesting that political coercion should be avoided. The horror.
There should be nothing controversial about what Ms. Riley said. In fact, it was the most reasonable public opinion that thus far has leaded from Windsor.
This is not a partisan practice. The rational members of all political parties should be thoroughly horrified by what the Mount Ascutney School Board and other governing bodies have done. This type of censorship and bullying only grows worse. Your entire school leadership must be removed, kicking and screaming if necessary, from office.
We were designed to be a nation of rigorous liberal debate. The Mount Ascutney School Board leadership must be held to account.
