MARSHFIELD, Vt. (AP) — Crews are expected to remove Tuesday a now-empty propane tanker from the Winooski River in Marshfield.
There were no injuries in the 7:15 a.m. Monday crash, in which the tanker, which held 12,500 gallons of propane, went into the river.
Crews off-loaded propane from the trailer Monday and any remaining fuel was burned off to reduce any additional hazard.
Police say the trailer will be removed from the river Tuesday when it no longer poses a hazard to first responders.
The cause of the original crash remains under investigation.
