Roland F. St. Laurence CLAREMONT — Roland F. St. Laurence, 93, formerly of Claremont, New Hampshire, died Monday, July 27, 2020, at The Pines Nursing Home at Rutland, Vermont. He was born in Granby, Quebec, Canada, on March 13, 1927, the son of Josephat and Georgianna (Senechal) St. Laurence. Roland was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed truck driver, driving for St. Laurence Trucking; he retired in 1991. He had also worked for the Claremont School District 13 years as a custodian and two years driving buses, the Claremont Coca Cola Bottling Co., Fred King’s Trucking, woven label, Claremont Parks and Highway Department. He had been a member of Southern Vermont Old Time Fiddlers. He was a great Pepere. He is survived by his children, Aline Casey of Rutland, Vermont, Norman St. Laurence and wife Brenda of Charlestown and Janet Partridge and husband Fred of Claremont; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Florence (Breault) St. Laurence whom he married on June 21, 1947 and she died in 2001; and his sister, Janet Dubreuil. Walk-through calling hour will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont on Friday evening, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church in Claremont on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
