Alice L. Valley UNITY — Alice L. Valley, 90, formerly of Claremont, New Hampshire, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at Sullivan County Healthcare in Unity, New Hampshire, following a period of declining health. She was born in Williamstown, Vermont, on Jan. 30, 1930, the daughter of Willy and Flora (LaFountaine) Groleau, and had been a longtime Claremont resident. Alice enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. She had been employed as an insert stuffer by the Eagle Times. Members of her family include a daughter, Suzanne Dole, West Paris, Maine; a son, Steven Valley, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Carleton Fleming, Lexa Valley, Leslie Ruddy; four great-grandchildren, Emily Fleming, Matthew Fournier, David Valley, Cassie Ann Ruddy; a brother, Emil Groleau, Connecticut; a sister, Rolande Blakeslee, Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Groleau; and seven sisters, Gert LaCoeures, Rita Turi, Yvonne Nueurath, Irene Davis, Pauline LeBlanc, Elizabeth Barcomb and Jackie Kelly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Arockia Antony officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan St., Claremont, New Hampshire, on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church.
