The Claremont Opera House (COH) presents the COH Orchestra with Director Gerry Grimo performing big band swing, Friday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m., on the hillside of Arrowhead.
In partnership with Gerry Grimo and the East Bay Jazz Ensemble, the Claremont Opera House is “going local” this fall season by launching a monthly concert series with a house orchestra. Enjoy an evening on the hillside at Arrowhead listening to Gerry and the COH Orchestra play mid-century swing. Gerry will lead an 11-piece ensemble featuring saxophones, trumpets, trombones, bass, piano, drums and a vocalist. This partnership is supported by the 2020 Membership Program with the objective of bringing other genres of music to the COH stage.
Seating areas will be divided into wet and dry, with 10 feet of social distancing between each seating area. Masks are required except when in assigned seating area. Sweet Fire BBQ will be providing beer/wine service in the wet area, and patrons are invited to bring a picnic basket with food and refreshments (no outside alcohol). If rain is in the forecast, the event will move inside to the COH stage and follow the outdoor seating plan.
Tickets are $15 for adults (21+), $5 for students (ages 5-20 seated in the dry area), and free for COH Gold Members. Seating is limited so tickets should be purchased in advance at claremontoperhouse.org or by phone at (603) 542-4433.
