Evelyn R. Bent

Evelyn R. Bent CHARLESTOWN — Evelyn R. “Evie” Bent, 69, of Charlestown, New Hampshire, passed away on Sept. 9, 2020, with her loved ones by her side. She was born in Hillsboro, New Hampshire, at the home of her grandmother, on March 30, 1951. Daughter of Ernest and Doris Bent, she attended Charlestown schools and was part of the first senior class to graduate from Fall Mountain Regional High School in 1969. Evie worked for 30 years at Kmart in Claremont, New Hampshire, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She also worked at KFC in Claremont for a number of years. She is survived by her sister, Judy Karson and husband Derik Karson of Charlestown; and her half-brother, Rudy Kingma and wife Ingeborg Kingma of Houston, Texas. Evie is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Cindy Kingma Perez and husband Carlos of Sugarland, Texas, Heather Sanders and significant-other Joe Leining of Charlestown, and Jason Burroughs and wife Heidi, also of Charlestown. Evie loved her family and her nieces and nephew were like her children. More important to her were her great-nieces and -nephews, Patience Tinker, her husband, Jason, and their son, Ezra; Amber Sanders and her daughter, Aurora Doris Boobar; Kody Sanders; Shelby Laraway, her husband, Will, and their children, Karter and Harper; Kole Burroughs, Layne Burroughs, Memphis Burroughs and Sonney Burroughs. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris (Colburn) Bent; her father, Ernest “Wild Bill” Bent; her stepmother, Grace Bent; and her favorite brother-in-law, Harold Burroughs. A graveside service will be held on Oct. 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery, Charlestown. A potluck gathering will follow at the VFW, Charlestown. Please bring a dish if you can. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking contributions be made to her sister, Judy Karson, 330 Sullivan St., Charlestown, NH 03603, to help with expenses.
