Noah Gutierrez’s goal for the Wildcats with just 13 seconds left in regulation sent the game into overtime after the Cardinals Kayden Laclair had given Stevens the lead. A Coper Moote over-the-top ball set Tristian Lane up for the winning goal after he pushed through the Fall Mountain defenders with just over a minute gone in the second overtime for a thrilling 2-1 Stevens win.

Stevens 1, Newport 1
The Tigers’ Kelsey Wheeler was spectacular in net for Newport as the Cardinals tried but just couldn’t get the winning goal in an action packed nightcap on Thursday. Zoey Foote put Stevens ahead in the first quarter but Newport’s Eliza Bates evened things up 1-1 on a deflection in the second period. The Cardinals had multiple point blank shots on Wheeler but the evening ended with a 1-1 tie in front of a good size crowd.
MacLeay’s goal secures 1-0 win against L&G
Windsor’s Olivia MacLeay scored a goal with 14 minutes to go in the first half assisted from Evelyn Page off an Elliot Rupp corner kick. Similar storyline for Windsor as the past few games the players have controlled the run of play but just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.
Adi Prior has three saves tonight on three shots. Windsor has a total of 15 shots with Elliot Rupp and a Evelyn Page generating a number of chances. Defensively, Kate Murphy and Kansas Marsh has great games with Olivia Kelly and Miah McAllister putting the high pressure on to keep the ball in L&G half. Windsor finished with seven corners to L&G no corners.
Windsor is now 4-1 on the season.
Bellows Falls gets 1st win of the season
In a game dominated by Bellows Falls from the start, there were no goals in the first half, but there was plenty of excitement.
In the 12th minute, Emma Graham ripped one off the crossbar, with the goalkeeper beaten, and right on the stroke of halftime, Anya Taylor put the ball in the net as time expired.
In the second half, Jenna Dolloph outran the defender into the box and rifled the ball into the corner of the net. With 17 minutes remaining, Maggie Parker threaded a perfect through ball for Emma Graham to sidefoot into the corner to kill off the game. Corina Mitchell had a shutout in goal.
Bellows Falls is now 1-5 on the season.
Lakers hold on to beat Kearsarge 1-0
In a scrimmage between two nearby schools Sunapee would make a scrum goal in front stick as the Lakers defeated Kearsarge 1-0. The goal was credited to Abby Pollari and assisted by Fiona Nolan.
Footing was difficult and a majority of the game was long passes through the midfield. Sunapee managed to find space behind the Kearsarge defense and had four or five great chances to score, but were turned away by an impressive performance by the Kearsarge keeper.
Sunapee’s defense continues to gain steam with an impressive performance shutting out Kearsarge, but not without a couple of solid saves by Miah Hamm and a few near misses including a post late in the second half.
“It was a fun game,” said Sunapee coach Myles Cooney. “I certainly wished we had finished our chances and played a little more solid, we definitely got to running around a bit. But a spirited scrimmage puts us in a good position to keep growing.”
Sunapee’s 19 shots on goal prove too much for Mascoma
Sunapee found a good pace of play about half way through the first half and went to work on Mascoma’s net. The passing was sharp and purposeful after the first 20 minutes and Sunapee found the back of the net eight times in a 8-0 victory at Mascoma High School. Sunapee had 19 shots on frame and took 11 corner kicks. Miah Hamm made two saves in net and the Sunapee defense, that has been spot on, got a little lackadaisical at times, but corrected and came back to form in the second half.
Suanpee’s eight goals were scored by Abby Pollari (3), Liz Tschudin (2), Sophie Bourque (1), Sophie Hubert (1) and Brynn Smith (1).
There are parts of our game that are real strong, our defense is coming along, we need to address our weaknesses at practice and during games and put it all on the field come playoff time in a couple of weeks. We are a work in progress, but trending in a good direction.
Sunapee returns to action Saturday versus the same Mascoma team at home.
Sunapee limits Newport’s possession time to 13 minutes in 10-0 win
The Lakers travelled to Newport this afternoon and controlled the game right from the kickoff. Newport has a young squad and the Sunapee veterans took advantage and scored four goals in the first 10 minutes of play. Newport kept fighting back but could not hold Sunapee back.
Jackson Cooney and Hunter Morse each scored two goals. Other goals came from Sam Kress, Harper Flint, Kaeden Hughlock, Sam Flint and David Jimenez.
The Lakers will travel to Mascoma on Saturday. Mascoma handed Sunapee their only loss of the season last week.
Windsor gets things going quick in 5-0 win
On a wet night in Windsor the Bellows Falls girls were unlucky. After giving a goal up in the first minute from a cross the found its way in the net, the girls responded well. Nothing went right for Bellows Falls an that coupled with Windsor scoring five goals on eight shots.
Olivia MacLeay started the scoring 90 seconds into the game with a blast from the top left corner of the box off a pass from Emily Fielder. The next 4 goals were scored by Elliot Rupp, 2 of them being assisted by Evelyn Page. Windsor controlled the run of play and ended up with 17 shots on frame.
Bellows Falls fall to 1-6 and will have a chance for revenge on Tuesday at home to Windsor at 4 p.m.
Tigers clip Knights, 1-0
The weather made for a rough outing but that did not damper the spirits of either squad.
On Homecoming Weekend for Newport, the Tigers held off the barrage of the Lady Knights with a stout defensive effort. Despite being out-possessed and on the brink of several straight away chances, the Newport Tigers did everything right they had to do.
The first goal was notched near the close of the first half. It was a single, unassisted strike, and the only the second time the whole game Amya Acevedo was tested.
The Knights out-possessed and worked on the Tigers side of the field all game, but were unable to convert on the scoreboard.
Rain came down harder as the game progressed, and both teams dealt as well as they could with the elements.
Amya Acevedo had four saves.
