MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife says it has extra permits for antlerless deer hunting for the upcoming muzzleloading seasons.
The permits are for use in some of the state’s wildlife management units.
The unallocated permits are available because not enough people applied for them in the lottery, which was held last month.
The permits are for use in the muzzleloader antlerless-only season, which runs from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 and the regular Dec. 5 to Dec. 13 season.
These permits can be purchased for $10 on the department’s website, on a first come, first served basis.
A person who won a permit in the lottery may not purchase a second permit unless they take a deer with their first permit and then only if they have not reached their four-deer annual limit.
