Margaret L. Rising WINDSOR, Vt. — Margaret L. Rising of Windsor, Vermont, passed away on Nov. 25, 2020, at home with her husband by her side. She was born July 23, 1935, in Windsor, Vermont, a daughter of Edward Sr. and Elsie (Anderson) Bishop. She graduated from Windsor High School Class of 1953 and went to Houle’s Beauty Academy graduating in 1954. Margaret married Frederick Rising in Windsor on May 7, 1955. Upon her graduation, she worked at Dorothy’s Beauty Salon in Windsor until 1961 when she became a stay-at-home mom with the birth of her first four children. Margaret was very involved with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, PTA fundraising for band, choir and sports activities while her children were in school. She was secretary of the Vermont State Craft Center for 10 years. She enjoyed her time working at the Vermont National Bank for 15 years as head teller before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and puzzles in her leisure time. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Frederick; children, David (Bernadette) of Hartland and their children, Shannon and Joshua, Gregory of West Windsor, Stephanie Graf (Walter) and their daughter, Jacqueline, of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Jennifer Allard (Thomas) and their daughter, Josephine, of Williamstown, Vermont; three great-grandsons, Ryan, Carter and Lucas. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Nelson of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Brenda Reed of Charlestown, New Hampshire. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Wiley, Cynthia Laclair; and her brother, Edward. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at St. Francis Church in Windsor with interment in the Ascutney Cemetery.
