Make it a three-peat for Bellows Falls as Terrier girls raced past Thetford, 33-27, to defend their Vermont state championship once again.

“We ended up winning by six points after the individual places were removed from the scoring, that’s how epically close our victory was” said Bellows Falls coach Joshua Ferenc.

Bellows Falls outstanding junior Abby Broadley led the way as she won her third consecutive individual Division III title in the Vermont cross country edging Emily Bloom of Rice with a time of 19:43. Broadley wasn’t alone as teammates Steph Ager grabbed a fourth place finish with a time of 21:10 while Victoria Bassette finished a few steps behind in fifth with a time of 22:45 and Birgess Schemm grabbed the seventeenth spot in 24:56 all finished with impressive showings for the Terriers.

The Bellows Falls boys were led by Logan Comstock and Jared Atkins who placed eighty-fifth and eighty-ninth, respectively.
