The tandem of Chris Brahan and Steven Williamson ended their day with 8 fish in the boat totaling 16.29 pounds of bass to claim the state championship in the New Hampshire Bass nation tournament held on Lake Winnipesaukee. The Cougars edged out Bishop Guertin and Prospect Mountain while Sunapee ended the day with seven fish totaling 14.81 pounds in the catch and release tournament.
2020 marks the third year in a row that Kearsarge anglers have topped the state with Brahan and Williamson being involved with all three state championships.
On the Vermont side, the team from The Wildcats of White River Valley who had an incredible bag of 22.93 pounds. Anglers Curtis Barry and Edward Staples led by Coach Paul Feeney were able to secure the winning haul. Fishing took place on Lake Champlain after a launch from the John Guilmette State Launch in South Hero. Local teams from Windsor and Hartford finished the day with six fish each totaling 12.42 and 12.35 pounds, respectively.
