Matthew P. Abraham

Matthew P. Abraham GOSHEN — Matthew P. Abraham died unexpectedly in his home on Dec. 3, 2020, in Goshen, New Hampshire, at the age of 44. Matt was born on March 23, 1976, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Robert and Ruth Abraham. Matt and his family spent much of his childhood in Charlton, Massachusetts. In 1987, his family relocated to Lempster, New Hampshire. The rural town made it an ideal place for Matt to develop his appreciation for nature. Matt graduated from Sunapee High School in 1994. Although he did not attend college, hard work defined who he was. He spent many years as a machinist, construction worker, a cook at several establishments, including the Backside Inn in Goshen, New Hampshire, security at Benning Street Bar and Grill, and then moving on to work for Grantham Combustion Services, Energy Construction Services, American Controls, and Irving Oil Corp. as a boiler/furnace technician and instrumentation & controls technician: truly a jack-of-all-trades and he was always there to help friends or family with a project. Matt loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and angler. He also enjoyed kayaking, target shooting, nature photography, gardening, bird watching, reading, cribbage, movies, South Park, music, hockey (Bruins all the way), Red Sox baseball, boxing, MMA, and playing his electric guitar or bass guitar. He was dedicated to his family and friends and always had a joke and a smile for every occasion. Matt never married, but he was a wonderful uncle and loved his nieces and nephews immensely. It was clear that he was happiest when spending time with them. Matt loved his family and will be deeply missed. Surviving family members include his parents, Ruth and Robert Abraham of Lempster, New Hampshire; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Andrea Abraham of Fairlee, Vermont, and their children, Connor and MacKenzie; and his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Tanya Abraham of Sunapee, New Hampshire, and their children, Shaylene, Samuel and Sebastian. At this time, there are no services scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An announcement will be made next spring of plans for a celebration of life gathering for Matthew.
