Myrtle Mae Benoit-Pollari

Myrtle Mae Benoit-Pollari GUILD — Myrtle Mae Benoit-Pollari passed in her home in Guild, New Hampshire, on Dec. 8, 2020, at the age of 87. Myrtle was born on Sept. 10, 1933, in the Samuel Morse historic farmhouse in Croydon, New Hampshire, to Joseph D. Benoit and Lottie Adjutant. She graduated from Sunapee High School and began her studies in college upon meeting her husband, Matti Pollari, whom she married on April 5, 1953. Matti and Myrtle ran a local dairy farm on the Springfield Road in Guild. She gave birth to three children while they worked on the farm. Throughout her life, she worked several jobs, giving her dedication and heart to each one. It wasn’t just a job to her, it was her life: at Dorr Woolen, Eastman Community Association and the Postal Service. She valued the many friendships she made along the way. It was about the people and enhancing the space around her with a special touch. She ended her career as the postmaster in Reading, Vermont. Myrtle was an avid bowler. She won many trophies and was often sought after as a teammate because of her skill and wit. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed making clothing for her children, costumes for local plays or even just a patch on a pair of pants. She loved to dance, play cards and take saunas with the family, sledding and eating the farm’s maple sugar on snow. So much laughter and memories were made with the children and grandchildren on the farm where she loved and lived her entire adult life. She spent most of her free time caring for her animals, flowers and vegetable gardens which fed her family. She was also generous with her bounty to others in the neighborhood who waved kindly in gratitude as they made their way. She will be remembered as generous, kind, resilient and passionate about her beliefs. She was the youngest of 10 and predeceased by her nine siblings. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving family members include children, Kathleen Pollari-McCarthy, Rudy and Eric Pollari; grandchildren, Kevin, Danielle, Beth, Ricky, Rudy Jr. and Cody Pollari, Matt Cohen; and several loved great-grandchildren. Mom, Gram, Auntie, you were many things to many people. You have done a wonderful job here on Earth. It is now time for you to enjoy your future in God’s Kingdom. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a local animal shelter.
