Richard T. Bonner

Richard T. Bonner SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Richard T. Bonner, 81, entered into his final rest on Dec. 27, 2020. He was born in Burlington, Vermont, to the late John P. and Georgette (Perras) Bonner on Dec. 22, 1939. He graduated from Milford High School, Milford, Connecticut, in 1957. On July 19, 1958, he married Ruth A. Pine. Together, they raised two sons. He was employed as a tool & die maker for 30 years, working at several government facilities in Connecticut. In 1988, he headed north to Springfield, Vermont, opening Heritage Furniture where he restored furniture for 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Springfield, and St. Joseph’s Church in Chester, Vermont. He was a Knights of Columbus member of Sullivan Council for many years and Grand Knight. In retirement, he resided in Grand Island, Florida, during the winter. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 62 years; his two sons, Todd R. and wife Margo, and Timothy R. and wife Nancy; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three nephews and several cousins; also by his companion, Jesse, the dog whom he loved dearly. As per his request, there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date which will be announced. Davis Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
