Kearsarge Regional High School Student of the Month: Garrison Hubbard

NEW LONDON — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s December student of the month.

Garrison Hubbard, a junior formerly of New London, was selected as the December 2020 student of the month at Kearsarge Regional High School after being nominated by faculty for the honor. Since receiving the honor, Hubbard has moved out of district.

“Garrison is a wonderful student and proves himself to be a hard worker each and every day,” said Abigail Gustafson, NECC-KRHS partner lead teacher. “He brightens the day of anyone who is around him and always has a positive attitude. He is a phenomenal friend and teammate, and has made such an impact on the Kearsarge community.”

Hubbard has been a part of the Kearsarge Basketball team for the past two years, and is known by his coaches and teammates for his sportsmanship and teamwork. He also enjoys skiing.

He has interned at the Upper Valley Humane Society, where he cared for shelter rabbits and cats, and helped maintain the cleanliness of the facility. He also visits Full Circle Farm weekly to participate in therapeutic horseback riding and learn how to care for the horses. Hubbard additionally spends time at the farm caring for therapeutic donkeys and would walk them around the high school once weekly. He also enjoyed walking the school’s therapy dogs down the hallway and teaching them new tricks.

“It’s a pleasure to see Garrison recognized as December’s student of the month, as his positivity, sportsmanship and overall kind nature have really shone during his time here at Kearsarge,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “He is known among his peers, teachers and teammates for being a positive example and we’re proud to honor him as December’s student of the month.”
