Bruce N. Carlson CLAREMONT — Bruce Nils Carlson, 68, passed away on April 18, 2021, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on Oct. 6, 1952, in Franklin, New Hampshire, to the late Peter Nils Carlson and Jeanne J. (Amadio) Carlson. Bruce grew up on Long Island living for many years in Islip. He served on the Islip Volunteer Fire Department. He loved music, played in a garage band, and wrote a book about his time in the garage band. Bruce spent the last 20 years in New Hampshire. He was a lifelong New York Mets fan. Bruce was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. Surviving family members include his sister, Wendy O’Connor and her husband, John, of Claremont. Bruce was a devoted and loving uncle to Sean O’Connor and his fiancée, Jen, Jessica O’Connor-Rathbun and her husband, Patrick, and Kevin O’Connor; and great-uncle to Isabella Rathbun and Maggie and Aiden O’Connor. He was a great friend to many. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, New Hampshire. A funeral service and burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery in Wilmot, New Hampshire, at a later date.
