Cardinals’ sophomore Josie Aiken had her first high school start on the mound, stricking out 10 and battling through some control issues to finish strong.
The Stevens bats were hot with Zoey Foote’s two doubles and three RBIs. Makayla Maccioli also had two hits including a triple and three RBIs.
Josie Aiken helped her cause with a double and Kylie Bundy hit a long triple and three RBIs. Gabby Savo put four hits in the books.
“We have a few things to sharpen up but all in all a solid first game,” said Stevens head coach Missy Nichols.
The Cardinals are 1-0 on the season following this 21-8 win.
Lebanon 8 Stevens 4 in baseball actionStevens fell 8-4 to Lebanon on Monday despite out-hitting them 9-7. The Cardinals racked up nine hits on the day with Dylan Chambers and Cody Pellerin leading the way with two hits each.
Zack Bundy took the loss for the Cardinals as the righty surrendered seven runs on four hits over four innings, striking out one.
Lebanon stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one swipe each.
Windsor blanks Burr & Burton, 25-0Peyton Richardson threw all five inning for Windsor. She had three strikeouts and only allowed one hit. Top hitters Hannah Wood going 5-5 with three triples and two singles. And Adriana Prior going 4-3 all single.
“I thought we were aggressive at bat and played a solid game,” said Yellow Jackets head coach Heather Stearns.
Next game is Friday at Fair Haven.
Lebanon 8, Stevens 0Despite a valiant effort, the short-handed Cardinals girls tennis team fell to Lebanon at Monadnock Park in Claremont on Thursday.

The Cardinals hit the road for a rematch against Lebanon on Friday.
Bellows Falls girls tennis defeated Hartford 4-3 on the roadSingles victories by Anika Larsen, Anya Taylor, Ariana Wunderle, and Emma Perkins at two, three, four, and five secured the win. Terriers are home Thursday versus Woodstock.
Hartford 6, Bellows Falls 3 in JV action
Terriers hurler Matthew Hayes threw four innings, striking out 12 batters and giving up two earned runs. Jesse Darrell also threw two innings while striking out three.
Both pitchers held their own against a solid Hartford lineup and credit to their hitters as they took advantage of their opportunities with runners on base with some key hits.
Bellows Falls catchers Trenton Fletcher and Jake Moore both put in great work behind the dish and called great games.
The Bellows Falls bats came alive as they plated two runs in the seventh as the rally fell just short.
Bellows Falls 26, MSJ 10Taryn Darrell pitched three innings allowing two hits, two runs while striking out two.
Jenna Dolloph had a monster day at the dish going 3-4, scoring four runs and driving in five runs with an inside-the-park home run for the Terriers’ softball team.
Mount Anthony 16, Windsor 4With Peyton Richardson on the mound for Windsor the Jacks held a 4-3 lead heading into the bottom of the third.
Mount Anthony started to find their hitting stroke and exploded for 11 runs in the inning to take the lead and closed out the day with a win against Windsor.
“We had a total of eight hits and swung the bat well against a very good MAU team,” said Windsor head coach Heather Stearns.
Adi Prior and Hannah Wood went 2-3 with Prior having an RBI and Jenna Hood going 2-2 with a RBI.
“I am very pleased how we played today against a strong D1 program,” Stearns said. “1-9 swung the bat well and weren’t intimidated. Defensively we played great, only having two errors.”
