Claremont Senior Center News: May 1, 2021

Hi everyone. We could not believe it! The seniors kept coming and filled the halls with talking, laughing, and waving. Distanced of course. Good noise. We just love it! And Game Night? So much fun going on. There were two rooms with cards and the Pool guys were in the house. We did hear the pool balls beat the players. All were hoping the holes were a little larger. They will be back on Thursday to try again. Come join us on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Game Night on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the fun.

We are trying to get cribbage up and going again, probably on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. from 11:30 a.m. Please call the Center if you are interested. The time is “iffy.” Maybe some would like an afternoon spot. Let us know. Call (603) 543-5998.

The Foot Clinic clinician has been so accommodating. She has added an extra day to the schedule. She will be in on the first Thursday, May 6, and the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays on May 12, 19, and 26. Bring those footsies right in here for relaxing pampering. Call (603) 748-1731 for an appointment.

The Blood Drive will be on Monday, May 10. Stop in from noon to 5 p.m. Donate a special gift to someone in need. The need is always present in the reserve area. So, don’t be shy. The attendants are wonderful and will make you comfortable as you donate Call 1-800-RED-CROSS for an appointment.

Attention gentlemen! Sorry ladies. The Men’s Breakfast is back! Mark your calendars for Monday, May 17. Tom and the volunteers will serve pancakes, bacon or sausages, juice and coffee. Doors open at 8 a.m. Breakfast is served at 8:15 a.m. Members are $2, visitors are $3. Open to the public. An interesting guest speaker will be heard at about 8:45 or so. Come on over. Great company, good food and lousy service. CDC guidelines will be observed. Masks required except during eating and drinking. Four men to a table.

The Penny Sale items are starting to get restless in storage. They are waiting to get out on Sunday, July 18. Doors will open at 11 a.m. The drawings will start at 1 p.m. There will be specials galore too. We have mixed some familiar ideas with some new ones. So mark your calendars and get ready for a whole lot of fun. This is a fundraiser for the Center, so come help.

Everyone is asking about the Car Show in August. Well, we are working on it. What we need now is more volunteers. This event has grown a lot over the years. The reason it has functioned beautifully is our volunteers. So, if you can spare two hours for some fun, please call (603) 543-5998. They will put you in contact with someone who will be grateful for your help. This event is a huge help to keep our Center going for our seniors.

Our rental calendar is filling up, so if you are planning an event, please call (603) 543-5998. We will do our best to accommodate your celebration with whatever it needs to be a fabulous time.
