Newport blows away the competition in track meet

Newport athletes dominated Monday’s track meet with Stevens, Hanover, and Mount Royal.

Jagger Lovely of Newport took home wins in the 100m, 200m, 300m hurdles, and 4x100m relay (alongside Marius Edwards, Kyle Hamilton, and Ryder Lovely).

Marius Edwards of Newport led the pack in the discus throw, javelin throw, and triple jump.

The boys team consisting of Taj Bagnato, Derek Lacy, Joaquin Martin, and Pierce Seigne swept the 4x400m relay.

Boys winners: Ryder Lovely of Newport (400m), Tim Fratzell of Newport (800m), Ryan Nelson of Newport (1600m), Dominic Johnson of Newport (110m hurdles), Peter Hogan of Mount Royal (high jump), Brady Moote of Stevens (long jump), and Liam Williams of Stevens (shot put).

Josephine Brigham of Mount Royal ran away with the gold in the 400m, 800m, and long jump events.

Maddox Lovely of Newport won the 100m and 200m events on Monday.

The dynamic Newport team of Eliza Bates, Taylor Fellows, Maddox Lovely, and Morgan Roberts dominated the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Girls winners: Emily Herbert of Stevens (1600m), Eliza Bates pf Newport (100m hurdles and 300m hurdles), Amelia Berthold of Hanover (high jump), Taylor Fellows of Newport (triple jump), Jenna Bonneau of Stevens (shot put), Julia Tursky (discus throw), and Morgan Roberts (javelin throw).
